DEVIN HARJES was raised outside of Lubbock, Texas in the heart of west Texas. Three days after he was born, his father carried Devin and his sister for a ride on a horse. Since then, horses and the rodeo have been his passion. He in fact won his first western horse saddle in competition when he was 5 years old. His love of rodeo and working with and training animals were good preparation for pursuing a career in acting. After college where he studied acting, Devin moved to the Dallas – Fort Worth (DFW) area and worked in various acting jobs in the local theatre community, receiving particular praise for his performance as ‘Billy Bibbit’ in a production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Encouraged by this, when he was presented with an opportunity to move to New York City, Devin packed his bags and headed east. In New York he has had the chance to continue to work on his craft and began appearing in off-off Broadway productions and student films. This lead to more roles in award winning independent films such as The Forest is Red, for which he received the Best Actor Award at the Tolentino International Film Festival in Italy and The Boyz of Summer, where he garnered Honorable Mention/Best Supporting Actor at the Long Island International Film Expo. His first television appearance was as the legendary Jack Dempsey on episodes of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. This was followed by guest star roles on shows such as Gotham, Orange is the New Black, Daredevil, Elementary, Blue Bloods and FBI. A student of martial arts, when not acting, Devin is often found working out at the gym – it’s a long way from the rodeo, but he’s less likely to be kicked by a horse there.
